A Place Where Every Child Is Known
At Richmond Primary School, we believe children learn best when they are known, supported, and challenged at the right level. Our teachers meet each student where they are academically and provide the support, encouragement, and opportunities they need to grow. With small classes and a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio, teachers are able to know their students well and provide individualized attention throughout the school day. Students may work in small groups for reading and math, receive one-on-one support from their classroom teacher, or work independently as they develop confidence and ownership of their learning.
Our goal is to help each child build a strong academic foundation while also developing the confidence, curiosity, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills they will carry with them throughout their education.
A Well-Rounded School Day
Our Kindergarten through 5th grade school day is Monday- Friday from 8:15 AM-2:30 PM. Students receive daily instruction in:
- Language Arts
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
Throughout the week, students also participate in a variety of special classes and experiences, including:
- Art
- Music
- Nature/STEAM
- Physical Education
- Library
- Foreign Language
Students also attend weekly chapel in our church sanctuary, providing an opportunity for reflection, character development, and connection to our Christian foundation.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
We believe meaningful learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. Students have opportunities throughout the year to learn through hands-on experiences, outdoor exploration, creative projects, movement, and real-world connections.
Our low-technology approach allows children to spend more time reading, creating, collaborating, moving, and engaging directly with the people and world around them.
After School Care
Students may enroll in our After School Care program, available Monday-Friday from 2:30-5:30 PM. Families may choose from 2-day, 3-day, or 5-day options, and Drop-In Care is also available.
During After School Care, students enjoy a snack brought from home and participate in a variety of enrichment activities, creative projects, games, and physical activities.
