A Confident Step Toward Kindergarten

Our Junior Kindergarten program is designed to give young learners the time, support, and experiences they need to build confidence and prepare for Kindergarten. Through purposeful, play-based instruction and hands-on learning, students develop essential academic, social-emotional, and independence skills in a warm and nurturing environment.

A Full Day Designed for Growing Learners

Our Junior Kindergarten program meets Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-2:30 PM, providing a full school day that allows children to learn, play, explore, and grow at a comfortable pace. The longer school day also gives students the opportunity to become increasingly independent and comfortable in a school setting while building relationships with their teachers and classmates. Students become familiar with the routines, expectations, and learning experiences that will help make their transition into Kindergarten a confident one.

Learning Through Play, Exploration & Discovery

We believe play is an important part of how young children learn. Throughout the day, students experience a balance of structured instruction, purposeful play, independent exploration, and opportunities to learn alongside others. Students are introduced to our curriculum programs, including structured literacy and math, providing a strong foundation for the academic years ahead.

Our Junior Kindergarten students are exposed to a variety of learning environments and experiences by visiting weekly specials including Art, Library, Music, Movement, Nature and Chapel.

Building the Whole Child

Junior Kindergarten is about more than preparing for Kindergarten. It is a time for children to develop confidence, curiosity, independence, and positive relationships with others.

Teachers intentionally support students as they learn to follow routines, communicate their needs, solve problems, work cooperatively, care for their belongings, and approach new experiences with confidence.

With small classes and individualized attention, teachers are able to know each child well and meet them where they are as learners.

After School Care

Students may enroll in our After School Care program, available Monday-Friday from 2:30-5:30 PM. Families may choose from 2-day, 3-day, or 5-day options, and Drop-In Care is also available. During After School Care, students enjoy a snack brought from home and participate in a variety of enrichment activities, creative projects, games, and physical activities.
